Dear Humanity+ Members,
I am writing to express my strong interest in joining the Board of Directors at Humanity+. Having followed your organization's work for 10 years and sharing a passion for the advancement of humanity through science, technology, and ethics, I am confident that my background and experience will be a valuable asset.
First of all, I have long-term dedication and enthusiasm to the mission of Humanity+ since 2013. I have attended numerous large-scale tech conferences, including G20, to advocate the ethical use of emerging technologies on behalf of Humanity+. I also brought in more H+ esteemed members to attend G20, APEC Business Council and Global Innovator Conference with national media coverage.
Secondly, I have demonstrated great initiatives and capability for building and growing the local H+ community since I founded the China Chapter in 2013. Till now, a well selected group members of nearly 200 people, including AI enthusiasts, startup owners, scientists and researchers have been active in our WeChat group. I have constantly organized offline meetups, built an official H+China article platform via WeChat (in Chinese) with average views of >500 per article. In 2018, I have successfully organized H+ Conference in Beijing UCCA. During that 2-day conference, nearly 200 people attended per day, while a wide media coverage was established with nearly 10,000 live stream views on the conference.
Given the focus of emerging technologies and the ethical aspects within Humanity+’s mission, I can also contribute my unique technology background and established AI expertise to our organization. One of my professional roles as a high-level AI analyst in a global consultancy company helps me forecast the trajectory of AI technological advancements and understand the potential social impacts and ethical exigencies.
Moreover, through my consultancy work, I am becoming a global AI opinion influencer through major international media outlets, gaining a lot of attention from the western media on my perspectives. These channels invited me to talk about the developments of current AI, the forecast of AGI, the ethical considerations and more, all of which are tightly related to the mission and focus of Humanity+. Recently I have appeared and been featured multiple times on CNBC, CNN, BBC, Channel Asia and CGTN.
Last but not the least, over the years I have worked closely with Ben Goertzel on SingularityNET projects for China market. The hands-on experience on building AI products and solutions for enterprise not only enriched my AI experience but also deepened the bonds us.
In conclusion, I am eager to contribute my skills, experience, and passion to Humanity+ as a Board of Director. I welcome the opportunity to further discuss my candidacy and how I can support Humanity+’s goals. Thank you for considering my application!
I am also attentively following the questions related to existential risks, artificial intelligence, moral enhancement and big data.
Since 2022, I try to understand why, for the first time in recent history (since 1945) life expectancy and (probably) happiness decreased. This while technological progress continues and even accelerates. Covid played a role as well as what I call "bureaucratization and complexification". Of course, the idea is not only to understand the situation, but also to explore avenues about how (to try) to change this situation.
Concerning aspects outside the "techno-progressivist” fields, I am an active member of the social and environmental movement and a jurist working in a public service in Belgium.
I wrote two books (in French): Et si on arrêtait de vieillir ! : Réalité, enjeux et perspectives d'une vie en bonne santé beaucoup plus longue and Technoprog, le transhumanisme au service du progrès social (with Marc Roux). I want to live at least 200 years (I am now 60 years old) so that at the end, I can speak Dutch (first language at my workplace) and English without a French accent:-)).
My main objectives:
Make the best link possible between working for healthy longevity and well-being though science and mitigating existential risks, especially those related to A(G)I (probably the most important question at the moment).
Organizing activities with other "technologically positive oriented" people.
Sharing ideas more collectively and in a good and open source organized way.
More impact on the media and with non-transhumanist people to (try to) convince them of the importance of our goals, especially longevity for all.
If I'm elected for a second term, my intention is to sit for no more than 4 years. 4 members of the board have recently decided that two members of the board had to step down (me included). I think we should have a term of 4 years for all members of the board (those non-elected included).
I propose to have a debate with the other candidates. They are woman and men that I would like to see as candidates who could be better than I was/am for this function. So, in this case, I would propose to vote for this (these) people.
Edward Hudgins.
Edward Hudgins, PhD is founder of the Human Achievement Alliance. He’d been developing this project idea some years ago, finally bringing it to fruition in 2020. He has been fascinated by science and technology since working as a high school intern at NASA-Goddard during the Apollo 11 moonshot.
He recognizes the potential of exponential technology in information, biotech, nanotech, AI, and robotics to usher in an era of undreamed of prosperity with long, healthy lives. But he also sees the need to revolutionize our antiquated education and to remove government barriers and disincentives that block innovation and entrepreneurship ship. As important, he sees the need to replace the pessimism, nihilism, anger, and malevolence that dominates our culture with optimism, purpose, joy in achievement, and vision of a benevolent future.
Ed has served as research director at the Heartland Institute, commissioning, fact-checking, and editing policy papers on energy and environment, healthcare, education, and taxes and regulations. His own research, podcasts, speeches, and media work focused especially on the need to revamp the current government certification process for new medical treatments, labor regulations, and current failing schooling system.
Before Heartland, he served in various roles at The Atlas Society, director of advocacy, executive director, and senior scholar, promoting open Objectivism, the philosophy of reason, achievement, individualism, and freedom. He examined the intersection of politics, values, and culture, with a special emphasis on the need for a human achievement culture.
Dear Humanity+ Members,
I am Edward Hudgins and it would be my honor to serve on the board of Humanity+.
I have a B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in Political Theory and History from American University, and a doctorate in Political Philosophy and International Political Economy, with studies in causality and scientific explanation as a tool of research, from the Catholic University of America.
I am founder of the Human Achievement Alliance. My nonprofit, in alliance with like-minded groups and individuals, seeks to educate and raise consciousness about how exponential technologies can make possible undreamed-of prosperity, with long, healthy lives for all. This organization seeks to develop policies to unleash innovative entrepreneurs and researchers to use those technologies to create such a bright future.
Science and technology have been major focuses of my four-decades public policy career. I was a NASA intern during the Apollo 11 Moon landing; worked on reforms to open space to entrepreneurs; and produced the book Space: The Free-Market Frontier, including a chapter by Apollo 11 Moonwalker Buzz Aldrin.
Of late, I have directed my efforts to replacing unfounded fears about artificial intelligence, robotics, and related technologies with a recognition that such tech are tools for beneficial economic and societal transformations that could dwarf the Industrial Revolution. I give special attention to facilitating breakthroughs in biotech to increase healthspans and longevity. I’ve worked on legislation and regulatory reforms to revamp the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
My efforts have been international, going back to 1990 when I developed basic concepts for the Index of Economic Freedom to highlight the best paths for less-developed countries from poverty to prosperity. I’ve worked recently with the Africa-based Transdisciplinary Agora for Future Discussions, and I helped set up the Afro-Longevity Foundation.
The trajectory of technology today can take us to the next stage of the Enlightenment, as envisioned in the transhumanist thinking pioneered by Humanity+. This transition will require a strategy with actionable steps to change the values, priorities, assumptions, and expectations—that is, the culture we share with one another—change that will nurture supporting social institutions. It will require replacing pessimism, nihilism, anger, and impotence with optimism, purpose, joy in creative achievement, and individual efficacy, all that will work to overcome the polarization that paralyses progress.
I welcome the opportunity to service on the board of Humanity+, to be in the avant-garde creating a future as it can be and should be.

Dear Humanity+ Board,
I hope that this email finds you in good health & spirit.
I thought it best to write to all 4 at the same time , I am keen to be part on the board . I am essentially trained and educated as an engineer ( electrical and control systems ) but have a strong interest in AI , also did extensive courses around this. One of the institutes I belong to now on behalf of the UK gov is looking at AI Ethics to formulise a standard/criteria , this is something that interest me immensely ( ie Moral / Ethics and AI Consciousness ) etc
I reside in South Africa and believe that there is a strong potential / interest in AFRICA for the knowledge that singularity presents and to expand and to attract essential talent to form part of Singularity as active members , I have extensive connections like most people my age I suppose
I believe strongly that I can and will add value , carry the criteria of Singularity to the letter and make the necessary introductions and attract candidates
I have also extensive experience built over the last 45 years in the development of engineering standards and codes on an international level , what we used extensively on industrial projects

Inara Tabir.
Inara Tabir, "The Galaxis Gal" is the president of the Multiplanetary
Society and the Executive Director of Gaaays in Spaaace. She was the
first trans woman to openly transition on a military base and plans to
be the first trans woman in space. Inara bridges sci-fi and science to
create a future where humans take full control of their evolution. She
sees her transition as a trans woman as one small part of her
transhumanism. She is an adherent of the Terasem philosophy which states
that death is optional.
Dear Humanity+,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Inara Tabir, and I am writing to introduce myself as a passionate advocate for transhumanist ideals and a dedicated member of the space community.
Having grown up in the foster care system, I have faced numerous challenges throughout my life, particularly in combating neo-Luddite and reactionary mindsets. As a transgender rights activist, I have devoted myself to fostering diversity, inclusivity, and equitable access within the space industry, which I consider my primary domain.
Over the years, I have been involved in numerous organizations that share the common goal of making humanity a multiplanetary and space-faring species. One of my notable contributions has been bridging the realms of Hollywood and Space in my capacity as Executive Director at Gaaays in Spaaace and my role at UniVRso. Through these roles, I have worked to bring together various industries, including fashion, art, music, and luxury brands, with a firm commitment to ensuring that space remains a diverse and accessible domain. I refer to this mission as "Going Beyond Inclusion."
As a Latina, trans woman, and former foster child, I firmly believe that diversity should serve as the driving force behind the space industry's progression. In this pursuit, I extend my support to transhumanist work at organizations like SpaceBorn United, the Lifeship Foundation, the human space program, and Terasem.
My vision for the future aligns with the pursuit of joyful immortality and the extension of human life and quality of life. I firmly believe that advancing these ideals will empower humanity to venture into the cosmos with a profound sense of purpose.
At the core of every organization I collaborate with, I advocate for a pro-human approach and strive for resource balance, informed by an Extropian outlook. In my capacity as the president of the Multiplanetary Society, I use this platform to unite the space community, recognizing that building a true civilization requires interconnecting spacers and transhumanists alike. By embracing the challenges and opportunities that the cosmos offers, we can overcome our largest systemic problems, arising from our confined existence within a limited space.
I am truly excited to promote and support the incredible work and mission of Humanity+. Your organization's dedication to advancing transhumanist ideals aligns closely with my own aspirations, and I look forward to the prospect of collaborating with like-minded individuals and contributing to the betterment of humanity's future.
Thank you for considering my introduction, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to contribute to the remarkable endeavors undertaken by Humanity+.
